The All-Ireland final of 2023 will be contested by the two most successful counties in the history of the competition. Dublin will face off against Kerry.
Both Dublin and Kerry were expected to make it through the semi-finals but both games were tough encounters. People thought Dublin had it hard yesterday when they pretty much held a narrow lead until the last ten minutes when they then pulled away from Monaghan.
The Dubs win was more of a team effort with 3-4 players stepping up when they needed to turn things around.
Cormac Costello was the standout performer for Dublin, scoring a total of 0-7 and earning the Man of the Match award. He played a crucial role in Dublin’s victory, contributing to their scoring efforts from both frees and play. James McCarthy and Brian Fenton were also influential in the late surge by Dublin, with Con O’Callaghan having an excellent second half.
Kerry had a much more difficult time of it and only pulled away in the last five minutes of the game but had to come from two points down first.
Kerry secured the win by defeating Derry with a score of 1-17 to 1-15 at Croke Park only hours ago. David Clifford played a crucial role in Kerry’s victory, scoring nine points and lifting the Kerry team when they needed it most going into the last ten minutes.
The final promises to be an exciting match between two highly regarded teams who like to play the game properly with fast-flowing football.
The final is scheduled to take place way earlier than usual on July 30th and the ticket scramble is on already.
